IMPORTANT NOTICE: Versions of Bamf before v2.0 do not work with OS X 10.5 (Leopard). This is clearly because of my shoddy coding. My bad. Good news is that Bamf 2 is a ground-up rewrite that has Leopard support right at the top of its list of features. Bad news is it's not done yet.

I strongly suspect I'm the only working author out there making use of this program. But if I'm somehow (happily!) mistaken, please accept my most humble apologies. And comfort yourself with the knowledge that all my computers have been upgraded to Leopard, so all the time I would normally spend writing is being funneled into development instead!

Bamf is a work in progress, aiming to make your life as a comic book writer easier. It does three things that your average word processor/script writer does not:

  • Automagically inserts, formats, and numbers pages and panels for you
  • Allows you to print your script in any number of popular formats without additional editing
  • Exports your script as beautifully stylized HTML, ready for insertion in your web page or blog

That said, it's only a few months into its development cycle. It's so alpha it's omega again. But I'll be damned if the little bugger isn't still useful. It's what I used to write all the scripts you see on this site, after all. And the price is right — which is to say, free.

If you've ever wanted to have your say in how you think a script writer should work, get in on the ground floor. Try Bamf out and if you find it's missing some pet feature or format tell me about it!
